Everybody, please meet our bikes. Yes, mine is a little blueish folding bike my loOvely boy presented me for my birthday. It was the first time I brought my little bike outside of the city. Last Saturday we put our bikes on the train in Florence and went for a trip. |

It’s not an advertisement, it’s my personal impression about the books of Khaled Hosseini. I discovered Khaled Hosseini’s book being my first book read in Italian. The first half of the book was hard due to the lack of good command of language. But after some time of practice and studies of Italian, I totally disappeared in the book. I couldn’t stop reading, I imagined every word, every situation and every person described. I cried, the first time in so many years and I cried over such a beautiful book about real life. |
I finished to read The Kite Runner in the train to Ravenna and I could barely hold my tears. It impressed me profoundly. The movie, though, sucks. Sorry to say this, but it was not worth making that movie by such an incredible book. The movie makers could not express all that was described in the book and even omitted a very important part. I was very happy to discover the second book of Khaled Hosseini and I literally ate the book in less than a month. A Thousand Splendid Suns is a story about two women and in the same time it is the story about every women in one or another time of human history.
