I love coming to the factory. In our store in Florence we do not have all the collections that the factory produces, so every time I come to the factory I discover something new.

This is one of the collections that we produce for the North Africa and Saudi Arabia market. Isn’t it a stunning piece?

Some of our jewels are shock pieces, ones you wear to be noticed, pieces that have their own personality and extraordinary character. Not all the women can wear our jewelry, you need a strong personality and not be afraid to show yourself.

Anyone heard about CS or CouchSurfing community? An amazing initiative round the world! A community of crazy travel addicts (with some unpleasant exceptions as can happen with all human beings) that travel on a low budget willing to share their own culture and travel experiences.

We had two Belorussian girls who helped Marco treat his cold with onion juice. A Korean exchange student in Denmark who was travelling by bike from North to South of Italy and back to Denmark through Croatia. Currently we are hosting a Korean student (Jin) who took a year off from his university to travel around the world with an initial budget of $2000, hitchhiking and couchsurfing from Korea through China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Turkey etc. till Europe.  Who will tell that he is not crazy?

Good morning world!!! It is a beautiful day in Florence, after a rainy Monday comes the sun! It was lovely to have some sweet time on my terrace having a morning coffee under the sun. The city today is marvelous, after the rainy day sun is just what I needed.

Today is also my first lesson in the swimming pool. I will finally learn to swim. LOL

I love Florence for all the possibilities it gives you to know more about its culture, architecture and history. The latest one was due to the Festival delle Generazioni – an event to promote the cooperation between young people and older generations. It included workshops, debates, concerts and a possibility to visit Palazzo Vecchio. I couldn’t lose this possibility, also because currently we are hosting a friend from Moldova.

So we went to see the palace, unfortunately we didn’t have the guide, but I knew that guys who work there as museum guards and are present in all the halls of the palace know a lot about its history and secrets. It was an evening visit and there were not a lot of people, the guards were a bit bored so I started talking with one of them.

I remembered from our last visit about existence of a secret room that has a little grid window facing the Salone dei Cinquecento – a former seat of the Grand Council – I wanted to understand where it comes from.

While my loOovely boy and his father were drilling the wall to set the new piece of our interior design – Swedish stenkisport (wall bar, swedish wall or whateve the English name is) I was browsing one of the blogs I follow – Frugal Feeding and found a very lovely recipe.

Since I am in a very delicate moment of a lady’s period I decided to please myself with some sweet things. I followed the recipe by gramme and it turned out amazing, apart of one thing that may be I used a wrong baking flour and the cake didn’t grow, but it didn’t influence its delicious taste. You can find the recipe here, I called it browneesecake.
